Oppo A16 Review: Pros and Cons. Oppo launched another smartphone in the budget section. This device, which is a successor to the Oppo A15 smartphone, has some good features. It is affordable and can be used by anyone. The Oppo A16 phone has everything a smartphone requires to run at decent performance. The screen, camera, processor and battery are all well-designed, but it doesn’t make it the best. There are many phones in the low-budget category that make it more competitive.
You will not get the faster 5G speeds if you have 4G broadband. Although global availability of this phone is still unknown, it was launched on July 17, 2021. We can however look forward to the end the year. This review is not recommended. Let’s begin with a review of the Oppo A16 smartphone.
Oppo A16 Review
- It has a 6.52 inch IPS LCD screen and 720p resolution.
- It comes with Android 11 OS so you won’t be distracted.
- The MediaTek Helio G35 chipset is under the hood. However, you can find more advanced options within this budget.
- The triple camera is 13MP, and the selfie camera has an 8MP sensor.
- Although a 5000mAh battery will last you for a full day, there are many better options on the market.
Design and Display
The handset comes with a metallic case and a glossy finish. The phone’s 3D body features sculpted edges and a beautiful feel when held. Three options are available on the market: Pearl Blue and Space Silver colors, as well as Crystal Black colors. These colors are matched to each person’s individuality. The fingerprint sensor is located on the sidebar of the triple camera, which is placed in a rectangular configuration on the back panel. The Pearl Blue variant will attract you.
A 6.52 inch screen will be provided, properly designed and with other specifications. This phone has a standard resolution of 720p, which is quite common for phones this price range. An IPS LCD displays a great visual experience. You may see motion blurring in videos that have a different refresh rate. It has a brightness of 480 nits, making it easy to use in direct sunlight. The AI Eye-care Unit is a great complement to your eyes. Its 20:9 ratio is another plus.
The measurements and weight have been well adjusted. The sidebar measures 8.4mm thick, while the phone is only 190g in weight. The front of the phone has a small hole which is not noticeable during operation. It’s not a problem with the overall layout or canvas, but the Realme Narzo has more appealing designs and more glaze.
The Oppo A16 smartphone’s camera section is basic and doesn’t satisfy users’ needs. The 13MP triple camera has autofocus mode and secondary cameras have 2MP macros and 2MP depth sensors. This phone’s rear camera is a standard addition. The best photos will be taken by phones that have a similar budget to yours. The AI technology will allow you to capture amazing moments but it won’t be as satisfying as what you are spending.
Even though night photography can be difficult due to insufficient lighting, the perfect light situation for photographing photos is the sunshine. All bold and beautiful colors are preserved by the main camera. Dazzling Mode adds vibrancy and sparkle to photos. An 8 MP camera with a selfie lens isn’t enough to capture precious moments. Although you can still capture everyday moments in groups, or by yourself, this feature is becoming less useful. This is not an important feature.
You can’t complain about this feature. However, the Realme Narzo 20 and Motorola Power offer more options both in the camera section and in other sections. Video is a different matter. You’ll be amazed at how sharp your videos look in 1080p. However, there’s no stabilization option so you will have to struggle with the video. You should consider other options when considering recommendations.

Battery and Other
You can stream YouTube for up to 21.02 hours with a massive Li-Po 5500 mAh battery. The power-saving mode will give you more than 2 days of useable battery life. After it has fully charged, Optimized Night ChargedAI keeps you cool. The information states that there is no fast charging option, so it’s best to use the regular one. The Oppo A16 smartphone is available at a low price of $140 (11,499 INR).

Internal and Memory
Android 11 OS is the most popular operating system today, even though Android 12 just came out. Although it’s not yet fully functional, you will still enjoy the most up-to-date version. You can do whatever you like with your phone. Your phone will be more controlled by the ColorOS interface. It doesn’t matter what you do: browsing websites, checking out other apps or playing games.
Smartphones are catching up to the growing demand for games. You need the latest features in your smartphone, including the chipset, to play high-end games such as Free Fire and Call of Duty. The Oppo A16 is not equipped with a 12nm MediaTek Helio G35 chipet. You may experience delays or lags when playing. This model’s most important feature is its processor, which can run at a maximum speed of 2.3GHz. The PowerVR GE8320 graphics card makes the visual experience even more exciting, but it is not worth the money.
Its many variants are quite surprising. There are currently three options available for different types of users. The basic variant has 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. This is for users who use the phone only for browsing, chatting, or performing simple tasks. Two additional variants are available that offer 4GB RAM/64GB or 256GB internal storage. You can also expand your storage with a microSD card slot.

The Oppo A16 is not worth the money if you compare the battery and camera. While you may see some improvements over its predecessor, there are many phones that offer more advanced features.
The Samsung Galaxy F22 smartphone has a 6000mAh battery, 48MP camera and more. As an alternative, this phone offers a lot more features and is well worth the money. The Galaxy F22 phones are great for gamers who love to play games.
