How to fix “Your Organization’s data cannot be pasted here” error
Are you seeing the error “Your Organization’s data cannot be pasted here”?
This message is displayed when you attempt to copy corporate data or corporate content from Outlook or other managed apps. Most of the time data cannot be copied as the contents are already used. This can be fixed by copying and pasting the text again. You can also use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste the text.
When you try to insert business data into an app, you may get an error message. This problem can occur on both mobile and desktop devices. The problem software should be closed. After the restart, check for errors. To fix the problem, follow these troubleshooting steps.
What is the “Your Organization’s data cannot be pasted here” error?
This error might occur if you try to transfer data from Outlook into another program. This error is most common if you copy and paste any data into an illegal program. It is usually due to Microsoft’s Intune Policy, which was created to limit the illegal copying of internet data.
This issue may be fixed on Android devices by long-tapping the screen area where you wish to paste data and then choosing the ‘Paste’ option. To be able to copy your information, it must be readable. Google Keyboard can pop up advising you that your data cannot be placed here.
It happens where and why?
Your organization’s data can not be copied because the Microsoft Intune Policy Management bans copying, cutting, pasting and pasting from your Outlook app to any illegal apps on your phone or tablet.
Copy and paste will not be permitted on the app where the material is to be pasted due to the error. The Intune setting that prohibits copy and pasting will be modified to allow copy and paste on third party applications.
To prevent Microsoft Intune blocking copy and pasting on other applications while you are using a Mac or Windows PC, you’ll need to modify the policy to allow cut, copy and paste to some other programs.
Microsoft Intune Policy and Outlook’s involvement
Microsoft Intune Policy restricts you from copying, pasting, or cutting from Outlook to any other app.
This option blocks or prevents cutting, copying and pasting between Intune apps and other programs on your phone. This is the Intune Blocked option.
Policies Managed Applications
This option allows you to cut, copy, or paste between this app, as well as any other policy-managed applications you may have.
Paste is a way to manage policy
This feature allows you to copy or cut data between the app, other policy-managed apps, and also allows you to paste data from other applications into the app.
There is no limit on cutting, copying, or pasting content between apps.
These are just a few of the ways Intune software can prevent users from pasting or copying data into Microsoft Outlook. Sometimes, people take screenshots while using Microsoft Outlook.
End users, like us, don’t have the power to correct this problem once the device is registered on the corporate Intune policies. This policy was probably given to you by your company so that you don’t copy or leak company data while setting up Outlook, OneDrive or other Office programs using company email credentials. This was done to prevent corporate data being copied or leaked.
We’ll show you how to solve the “Your Organization’s data cannot be pasted here” problem in the next section.
Step-by-step instructions for configuring Microsoft Intune Policy in Outlook
Let’s say you have this problem on your computer. You can try the following solutions to fix the error message that you see on your Windows 11, or Windows 10 operating systems (PC or laptop).
Microsoft Intune allows you to make changes to the app security policy
These steps will allow you to retrieve data that was stored in Microsoft Intune and prevent you from cutting, copying, or pasting it.
- Take a look at the Microsoft Intune dashboard.
- Client applications can be found on the left-hand corner of the dashboard. From there, you can access them.
- Navigate to the App protection policy area on the Client apps screen.
- Click the “Create Policy” button to create a new policy. You can also update an existing policy by choosing it from the list. Click on the policy you want to update.
- For the creation of new policies, additional information such as the platform may be required.
- This function can be found in the Settings menu. You can find this function later under the Data Protection submenu. Then, you will see it under Data Transfer.
- Go to the “Data Transfer” area. Edit the policy to limit cut, copy, paste, and make sure it meets your needs.
- To save the policy, you will need to click on the “OK” button.
Once you’ve done this, you should be able copy data between applications. This will depend on how your policies were previously modified. You would need to delegate a policy you have created within Microsoft Intune. If you still experience the same problem, check that the app has been updated.

Manually update the Office suite
To fix this problem, you’ll need to manually update your Office suite. This location cannot hold data because the version of Office you are using is older. This can be eliminated by performing a manual Office update. This should be done on both your Windows 11/10 desktop and your iOS/Android mobile devices.
Save the document after making the changes.
Make certain modifications to a new file to fix the problem. Open a new Excel spreadsheet. After entering text, you can fill in the blanks with the appropriate color. After that, hit the back arrow. When asked to confirm your desire to save the file, select “Yes”.
Take a look at the file you just saved. This will allow you to see if it is possible to copy and paste data from your company into the file. Save your work if the problem persists. Wait thirty seconds before you close the program. Copy and paste the information you need into the problem file.
You can copy data from another Office program if the error occurs in an Office application. Copy data from Word to Outlook, for example. Check to make sure it is pasted correctly.
If you are having trouble with Android’s data sharing, hold down the long-press button. Next, select ‘Paste’ from context menu. The information displayed on the screen cannot be copied and pasted.
Google Keyboard will display a warning saying “Your data cannot being put here”. This is often a recommendation from Gboard. You can fix the problem if you touch your screen for a prolonged period.
This error is caused by a unique feature in Microsoft Intune Policy Management, (MIPM), that prevents users from copying data for security purposes. This means the app to which you are trying to copy is not recognized by Microsoft Intune Policy.
However, sometimes errors can occur even when data is being transferred to an app that has been allowed. This can be caused by an older version or Office program on your device.
Your company won’t allow you to post any work-related material on your website.
Microsoft 365 Business offers WIP by default to its customers. This shows that the ‘personal’ and business data can now be separated. “Corporate Data” is information that is derived from corporate software applications such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Other data includes PDFs, files downloaded via network shares and local files.
Android and iOS devices could be the source of the notice that data from the organization cannot be pasted here (iPhone, iPad). Outlook places this restriction in place to stop other applications accessing confidential information. This notification will be displayed every time you try to transfer content using the Microsoft Outlook app.
The Microsoft Intune Policy Management can change certain settings if it appears that the data belongs your organization. Certain apps are allowed to copy, cut, and paste directly from the Microsoft app. We must follow all these steps to resolve the issue.
